SCSA® – the gold standard test for analysing sperm DNA fragmentation
An important step in male fertility screening.
Approximately 10–15 % of couples worldwide are unintentionally childless.
Fragile sperm DNA (DNA fragmentation) is responsible for reduced fertility in 20–30 % of patients who visit a fertility clinic.
- The SCSA test analyses the stability of the sperm DNA and is therefore a guide for further family planning.
- It determines whether the chances of a successful pregnancy are higher naturally or with the help of treatment.
- The SCSA test can identify the cause of repeated unsuccessful fertility treatments, miscarriages or unexplained infertility.
An important step in male fertility screening
Flow cytometry results – each dot represents a single sperm. 10,000 sperm are measured for each patient sample.
Routine semen analysis does not detect sperm DNA damage.
Our test results provide answers that guide and support treatment decisions to increase pregnancy rates.
10,000 sperm measured per sample
Did you know?
…that poor-quality sperm DNA can reduce the chance of pregnancy by up to 10 times?
…that studies show that with DFI values of 27–30 % (fragile, fragmented DNA), the chance of conceiving through intercourse or IUI is 7 to 10 times lower than for couples with a DFI in the normal range (stable, barely fragmented DNA)? In these cases, a successful pregnancy is more likely with IVF/ICSI.
Is the SCSA test for you?
- Repeated unsuccessful IUI/IVF/ICSI attempts
- Recurrent miscarriages
- Poor embryo development and quality
- Smokers
- Diabetics
- Stress
- Obesity
- Chronic diseases
- Exposure to toxins / pesticides / chemicals / radiation
- Taking prescription drugs
- Past cancer treatments
- Abnormal semen analysis findings

What our patients have to say
We’ve been trying to conceive for several years. My husband’s SCSA test diagnosed a lot of DNA damage. After the cause was identified and eliminated, the second test showed a significantly better DFI. A few months ago we got pregnant! Thank you SCSA!
